Five Reasons It’s Hard To Move Forward

I understand!

It can be really frustrating to look at all the things you want for your life—but have no idea how to bring them into being and feel like it’s next to impossible to make any of them your reality.

I have some ideas as to why you’re experiencing what you’re experiencing! Maybe one of them will hit the proverbial nail on the head. Maybe more than one is at play.

Shall we take a look?

  1. You spend a lot of time looking back and that’s stopping you from seeing a path forward. It’s like watching the same movie again and again and expecting a different outcome. All the energy you’re spending on replaying the past is not going to change your outcome. You cannot change the things you’ve experienced. You can only decide how you want to move forward from there.

  1. You wish the past had turned out differently and it’s draining your battery. Wishing that things were what they were never meant to be is a costly endeavor. Acceptance is likely the most efficient solution and the remedy for your exhaustion.

  1. You try to make sense of nonsensical things and it’s distracting you. We often try to apply the same problem solving skills we use for mathematical equations and other logical conundrums to people and relationships—which, oftentimes, are illogical and contradictory by nature. Again, acceptance, rather than mental dissection, is likely your best bet.

  1. You want things from people you can’t give them to you and it’s making it impossible to explore other options. No one has to give you what you want in order for you to heal or be at peace within any relationship. Look for people who can give you the things you need and free the people who can’t from the expectation that they should and you’ll all be able to move forward in new ways.

  1. You focus on what you don’t want and you’re not investing energy into what you do want. Not much in life is an absolute certainty, but focusing on what you don’t want and expecting to get what you do want is pretty close. Take all of that focus and use it to fuel the things you do want.

I’ve gone more than my fair share of rounds with all of these things and it’s NO FUN!

They all left me in a mental loop, telling the same story on repeat, and stuck in places where I didn’t want to be.

Which of the above most resonates with you?

Are you miserable enough that you’re willing to do something differently?

I found my way out of the mental loops and I can empower you to do the same!

Would you like to break the cycle and start moving forward?

I felt all of these things at one time or another. Sometimes all at once! I’m currently working on #5 at the moment and it’s going well. I truly hope anyone that is resonating with any or all of these will each for your skills!

Sometimes, change doesn’t occur until the pain of remaining the same is greater than the pain of change (former me)! Don’t be that. Call Dr. Kate and make a proactive change and live your best life.
